INFOBIOGEN is a French resource centre for Genomics. It offers to the scientific community access to a collection of biological data, tools for analysis along with training and support. INFOBIOGEN also takes part in new developments within its sphere of activity.
The
European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) is a non-profit academic
organisation that forms part of the European Molecular Biology
Laboratory (EMBL).
The EBI is a centre for research and services in
bioinformatics. The Institute manages databases of biological data
including nucleic acid, protein sequences and macromolecular structures.
The mission of the EBI is to ensure that the growing body of
information from molecular biology and genome research is placed in the
public domain and is accessible freely to all facets of the scientific
community in ways that promote scientific progress.
Established in 1988 as a national resource for molecular biology information, NCBI creates public databases, conducts research in computational biology, develops software tools for analyzing genome data, and disseminates biomedical information - all for the better understanding of molecular processes affecting human health and disease.
BLAST stands for Basic Local Alignment Search Tool. The emphasis of this tool is to find regions of sequence similarity, which will yield functional and evolutionary clues about the structure and function of your novel sequence. WU-BLAST 2.0 and NCBI BLAST2 are distinctly different software packages, although they have a common lineage for some portions of their code, so the two packages do their work differently and obtain different results and offer different features. You can also check for vector contamination with Blast2 EVEC.

The Mathematical, Data-processing and Genomic forum organized by the Ministry for National Education, Research and Technology, showed the need for promoting and for supporting multi-field research with the data-processing, mathematical, physical interface and molecular biology.
ECCB is a multi-disciplinary conference that bridges the fields of computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology by bringing together involved scientists from all over the world.
